WALIPP scholars delivered hand-made greeting cards and personal letters to the Houston Veterans Administration Hospital. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee and Adam C. Walmus, Medical Center Director received the scholars and their gifts. On this special holiday, one of the WALIPP scholars was honored to receive a personal pin from the VA Executive to celebrate the life of the scholars’ mother, a veteran who had died just two months earlier. WALIPP toured the hospital and visited with dozens of veterans, giving them personal mementos and bright smiles. What a day!
