Dress Code

Our dress code has real-life implications. In the future, our scholars will go on interviews in architecture firms, law firms, medical facilities, political buildings. We want them to already have a sense of professionalism. Perhaps our WALIPP-TSU scholars may want to start their own construction company and have to present a proposal for a business loan to million dollar investors. Either way, we want them prepared. Additionally, we want our parents and scholars to feel that their school’s culture is different, exceptional, and ahead of the curve. Thus, our dress code policy is non-negotiable. Furthermore, a scholar’s dress, grooming, and appearance must reflect the following principles.

Pants

Black business Dockers, or creased cotton slacks (No Dickies!)
Must be neatly pressed daily
No jeans allowed unless on ‘free dress days’
Black belts must be worn with pants. No exceptions.
No studded belts or shiny shaped buckles
Pants must be pulled up on the waist — no sagging in any manner.

Shoes

Must wear solid black leather shoes that present a professional, business-like appearance. Tennis shoes are allowed for P.E.
only.
Soles may be soft or hard, but the soles must be solid black.

Examples of shoes that are NOT acceptable:
Prada soft-bottom sneaker/shoes.
Mauri soft-bottom sneaker/shoes.
Nike All-Condition Gear boots/sneakers.
Coach soft-bottom sneaker/shoes.
Gucci soft-bottom sneaker/shoes.
Diesel soft-bottom sneaker/shoes.

Sandals.
Chucks or soft top shoes.

Examples of shoes that ARE acceptable:

Shirt & Tie

Scholars must wear white button up shirt with black clip-on tie Monday through Thursday. Scholars may wear the WALIPP-TSU polo on Friday’s or during fieldtrips when given expressed written consent.
Scholars must wear the WALIPP-TSU t-shirt during P.E. everyday. Shorts in P.E. must be solid black.

Jewelry

Necklaces and chains must be tucked inside the shirt, along with any charms, medallions, or name plates that may be on a necklace or chain.

Winter wear

Scholars are to wear a solid black sweater over their white shire and black tie.
Black WALIPP TSU Fleece or Solid black bomber jackets or overcoats may be worn. Multi-colored, logo, striped, flannel, or jackets other than solid black are prohibited.

Scholars who violate the Uniform/Dress Code Policy will face disciplinary action.
