Reports and Grades

Homework

Homework at WALIPP TSU Preparatory Academy is never punitive or heavily graded. Our teachers do not assign homework as busy-work but as a means of building thinking capacity and reinforcing what was learned at school.

Report Cards and Progress Reports

Report cards are issued on a 9 weeks basis. Progress Reports are issued on a 3 weeks basis. In addition to course grades, teachers will comment on the scholar efforts, attendance, mid-year final examination grades, and other related matters. Parents/guardians are encouraged to respond to these grade reports by contacting the teachers involved.

Grading System

WALIPP-TSU calculates and reports numerical grades on report cards. However, we do allow students a second opportunity to make up grades. Thus, every student has an opportunity to succeed.

Honor Roll

An WALIPP-TSU Academic Honor Roll is published after each of the first three marking periods. In order to be placed on the WALIPP-TSU Academic Honor Roll, scholars must achieve a B+ average. A certificate is issued to each scholar who achieves WALIPP-TSU Academic Honor Roll status.

Incomplete Work

If for a valid reason a scholar is unable to complete the required subject course work within a given marking period, he may be allowed to make up the work. A grade reflecting the current grade status will be entered on the report card with an appropriate comment. The scholar will be given one extra week from the time of the report card issuance to complete the work and have the grade changed. If the work cannot be completed within this time frame, the original grade will stand.
