What is the cost for the Academy?

As an HISD Charter School, our students do not pay for tuition and many boys are eligible for free or reduced lunch.

Does the Academy provide transportation?

HISD may provide transportation for qualified students to and from the Academy.

What grades and what geographic areas of city are served?

The Academy currently offers education for middle school boys (6th, 7th, and 8th grades) throughout the entire Houston metropolitan community. Enrollment is more than 100 boys.

Who is WALIPP?

The William A. Lawson Institute for Peace & Prosperity (WALIPP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) created in 1996 to support education, affordable housing and other critical programs.

Can the Academy help my boy get ready for college?

Our school location on the campus of Texas Southern University was selected to help us get students ready for and comfortable in a college environment. YES, we can help!
