What is the cost for the Academy?

As Texas State Charter School, our students do not pay for tuition and many boys are eligible for free or reduced lunch.

Does the Academy provide transportation?

We provide  bus services for many students that live more than two (2) miles from the Academy.  Transportation routes may be available upon request.

What grades and what geographic areas of city are served?

The Academy currently offers education for middle school boys and girls  (6th, 7th, and 8th grades) throughout the entire Houston metropolitan community. 

Boys attend at the Nabrit campus on the campus of Texas Southern University.  Girls attend at he Rayzor campus at St. James Episcopal Church, 3129 Southmore Boulevard.

Who is WALIPP?

The William A. Lawson Institute for Peace & Prosperity (WALIPP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) created in 1996 to support education, affordable housing and other critical programs.

Can the Academy help my scholar get ready for college?

Our school location on the campus of Texas Southern University was selected to help us get students ready for and comfortable in a college environment. YES, we can help!
